A step forward in defense of animals

For a long time it has been thought that animals are little more than things at our service. Things that we can use however we want, and that we don't have to worry about. But today this idea is beginning to explode. More and more people around the world have different opinions. It's a wave that doesn't stop growing. More and more people know that animals are beings that feel and suffer, and that therefore we should respect and defend them.

What are the reasons for stating that? Why should we care about what happens to animals? What can we do for them, and what can we stop doing against them?

A step forward in defense of animals seeks to answer these and many other questions. He does it in a simple and easy-to-follow way but providing an enormous amount of data, examples and arguments. It shows that many preconceived ideas that we still have about animals are weak and incoherent. It also uncovers the hidden reality that animals face, a reality that most people cannot even imagine. Imagine that you live in a place where, in many different places, there are very visible red buttons that anyone can press. Every time you press one you cause an animal, or several, to suffer in terrible ways and die. But when you press it you get a pleasant feeling. Would you press those buttons?

Many people wouldn't do it. But what if they discovered that this example represents something that is happening in reality?

Now imagine that before you were born you could choose which world to live in and that you didn't know if you were going to live like a human or like any other animal. What world would you choose? One like the current one, in which day after day we make animals suffer and die, and we ignore what happens to them? Or perhaps a different one in which animals were respected and defended?
